Mexico’s got it going on……
Yes, we love Mexico, particularly the Lake Chapala area. Undoubtedly one of the best climates in the word. Lower cost of living compared to the US and Canada. Friendly, warm, welcoming people. Plentiful local agriculture. Amazing history and culture. Mexico is one of the world’s top destinations for those dreaming of a relaxed and romantic new life abroad.
What normally happens is that people come here for a visit, maybe one or two weeks, often staying with friends from back home. They soon fall in love with the area and make plans to move here permanently. The Ajijic area has the second largest population of Canadians after Florida. Recent studies suggest there are now more Canadians here than Americans. That might have something to do with the cold Canadian winters.
Although we are huge fans of the area, it is often difficult to find what you need, be that a home or goods and services. More often than not you need to know somebody who knows somebody. Our goal is to change all that.
We are creating a network of city portal websites, the first being AjijicToday.com.mx, to provide all the kinds of information that both residents and tourists need. We also want to offer effective, affordable advertising to local merchants so their customers know where to find them. We do this with our unique Business Directory, where basic listings are free. We also offer our clients affordable internet advertising starting as low as 200 pesos per month. It only takes one new customer to justify this cost.
Our second goal is to create a sense of community on our websites. We do that with free news, forums to discuss local issues, free classified advertising and our Business Directory. We encourage people to make their local city website their homepage so they stay up-to-date on everything going on in their community.
A value we hold dear and one we will never relinquish is our objectivity. We may express an opinion once in a while; however, we will never let our advertisers dictate what we can and cannot post on our sites. We will always do our very best to confirm the facts of any situation and we also believe there’s enough bad news in the world so we will always promote Mexico with positive articles.
We invite you to join us on our journey and we encourage you to share your thoughts with us on anything about your community. Let us know if there is something you would like us to add to our sites and we’ll do our very best to provide it. Let us know if you are having any technical issues with any feature of our sites and we’ll get on it right away. There’s no shortage of dysfunctional websites out there, some for very large companies, and we don’t want any of our sites to be one of them.
